Accessibility Statement
Last updated 1 July 2026
Alderstone Media Ltd wants alderstonemedia.com to be usable by everyone, including people who navigate with a keyboard, use a screen reader, magnify the page, or need reduced motion. This statement records the standard we work to and where we currently fall short.
1. Standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We test against it whenever we make substantial changes and at least annually.
2. Measures taken
- Semantic landmarks, one
h1per page and headings in a logical, unskipped order. - Colour combinations tested to at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and interface components.
- All interactive elements operable by keyboard alone, in a sensible order, with a clearly visible focus style.
- Visible persistent labels on every form field, programmatically associated, with errors announced by the browser.
- Decorative graphics and the sector ticker hidden from assistive technology; meaningful graphics given alternatives.
- Layout reflows to one column at 320 CSS pixels with no horizontal scrolling and no loss of content.
- Text resizes to 200% and honours user-defined minimum font sizes without clipping.
- The ticker animation and all reveal transitions stop when the operating system requests reduced motion.
- No flashing content, no automatic redirects and no time limits on reading or completing forms.
- Accordions and disclosure widgets built from native HTML elements so assistive technology reports state correctly.
3. Known limitations
- Embedded third-party video players are not fully within our control and may not meet Level AA in every respect. Transcripts are available on request.
- Some archived campaign report PDFs are untagged. We will supply an accessible HTML or plain-text version of any document on request, normally within two working days.
- Complex reach-curve and Brand Lift charts in downloadable reports are accompanied by data tables rather than full text descriptions.
- The sector ticker on the home page has no visible pause control; it is hidden from assistive technology and stops entirely under reduced-motion settings.
4. Tested with
Our most recent review used NVDA with Firefox and Chrome on Windows 11, VoiceOver with Safari on macOS and iOS, TalkBack with Chrome on Android, keyboard-only navigation, Windows High Contrast mode, and browser zoom to 400%.
5. Reporting a barrier
Please tell us if something does not work for you. Email [email protected] with "Accessibility" in the subject line. Include the page address, what you were trying to do and the assistive technology or browser you were using.
We acknowledge reports within two working days and aim to fix confirmed issues within 20 working days, offering the content in an alternative format meanwhile.
6. Enforcement
The Equality and Human Rights Commission enforces the Equality Act 2010 in relation to accessible services. If you are dissatisfied with our response you may contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service.
7. Preparation of this statement
Prepared on 1 July 2026 following a full-site audit combining automated testing, manual keyboard and screen reader testing, and criterion-by-criterion review against WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Reviewed annually.
